Where it all began…

Founder Joanna spent her childhood summers with her family in Jersey, learning the art of hospitality from her greatest inspiration, her grandmother Mayda.

The story so far

Alongside a successful career in coaching and management, Jo Vann follows in the family footsteps with the launch of A Little Place, an independent hotel collection transforming traditional B&B’s into digital stays with customer experience at its heart.

Jo’s vision for A Little Place is to put people and community first, discovering local talent and collaborating with businesses to make each of the properties a canvas for creativity. Creating home-from-home stays with authentically local interiors, Jo sets out to merge a digital guest journey with making memories and stories worth telling…

A history of hospitality

Jo’s maternal Grandfather, Major Jacque Valentine Reynolds opened Hotel De France in Jersey a few years after the war ended. His vision for the historic 19th century building was to transform it into a first class hotel, providing the comfort and facilities expected by post-war guests. His wife, Mayda Reynolds, Jo’s grandmother, was the general manager of Hotel Metropole in Jersey, a woman adored by those who worked alongside her.

Joanna’s A Little Place concept is inspired by the past whilst transforming the future. Like her grandparents before her, Jo is trailblazing the future of hotel guest experience.
