The Power of Gathering: Honouring Remembrance in Amesbury
Remembrance is about more than a single day on the calendar — it’s about coming together, reflecting, and celebrating the people and stories that shape our communities. At A Little Place in Amesbury, we believe in the power of gathering to remember, to connect, and to honour the courage and sacrifice that came before us.
As our founder, Joanna is currently serving abroad, we’ve created a short film from 2024, capturing the heart of Amesbury and our community coming together in remembrance. Whether you’ve lived in Amesbury all your life or are visiting our historic town for the first time, the spirit of community is felt in every gathering, and every story shared together.
Antrobus House, A Place of Remembrance
Antrobus House was built in 1925 by Lady Florence Antrobus in memory of her son who was killed in the First World War, and has long been at the heart of Amesbury’s community. Each year, the Remembrance parade forms here, making it a symbolic starting point.
Antrobus House’s history as a place for gatherings and celebrations of community spirit makes it the perfect backdrop for remembering our veterans and those who serve today.
A Little Place: Connecting Through Stories
We aim to capture these moments, celebrating the heritage and humanity of our town and beyond. This video is part of our new series, Stories from Amesbury and Around the World, which highlights local traditions, community celebrations, and shared experiences that inspire connection no matter where you are.
